When it comes to mental health issues, nobody is immune. Some are more resilient than others, but that's it.
Simone Biles is an exceptional, outstanding athlete performing averagely at a level most of her competitors can only dream of. Yet, you simply cannot separate the good functioning of your brain from the rest of the body. This is especially true at her level where the slightest mistake can cause serious injuries.
What this shows is that even strong, successful people can suffer from mental health, feel the pressure, maybe trying to deal with trauma. To withdraw from the final must have been a very hard decision, and it shows that she values herself over other people's expectations. It's a departure from the "success at all cost" that we are so used to see...except we rarely see what that cost really is for the athletes.
This is the same for everybody. There's a time where you need to get up and go, and there are times where you must look after yourself. Whether it's your job, your relationship, looking after your family or just trying to get by, how can you perform at your best if you are struggling mentally. It could be stress, depression, anxiety, grief, PTSD, etc... Look after yourself, physically AND mentally.
I actually believe that mental health should only be as distinct from physical health as gastric or cardiac health are. It's "just" another organ we're talking about. If you have an issues with your teeth, you book a dentist appointment, it's normal. So why so many are still reluctant to see a therapist when they feel unwell? Are your teeth more important than your brain? Just because "it's in your head", it doesn't make it any less of a real problem. The suffering is very real.
People complaining or mocking other for their self-care (I'm looking at your Piers Morgan) simply don't care about you and your needs.
After over a year of social distancing and contactless living, coming back out to crowded places can feel like a daunting task.🥶 Whether it's pubs, high streets, public transport or even work, many of us have lost the habit of being surrounded by so many people at such close proximity.😷 Jumping back in the deep end might cause your internal alarm system, your anxiety, to get triggered easily and overreact. To regain control over your anxiety and your mind, just give me a call.💪🧠👍 #regaincontrol#overcomeanxiety#backtonormal#hypnotherapy... See MoreSee Less

8 million deaths worldwide in 2019 attributed to smoking*. I'm sure that it won't even surprise you: we all know it's bad for your health, your finances and your loved ones around you. You know that.
But we've all been told again and again that it's hard to stop smoking (it's not). We've been told that nicotine is the problem (it isn't) and makes it hard to quit (it doesn't). Even the language used ("giving up", "quitting") has negative connotation! I wonder who benefits from smokers believing all this...🤔
Now stopping smoking can be easy and quick. You can choose to be free from that old habit and enjoy your renewed health, finances and freedom. 💪🚭
Call me now to see how I can help you move forward, healthy and free, even if you tried and failed before.
