Subconscious Rewiring vs. Conscious Reasoning
Have you ever tried to talk yourself out of a panic attack? Or used logic to convince yourself that your phobia is “irrational”? If you have, you already know the frustrating truth: Understanding a problem is not the same as fixing it.
Traditional talking therapies, including many forms of CBT, primarily target the conscious mind. They rely on reasoning, analysis, and “thinking about the problem.” While these have their place, they often hit a brick wall because anxiety, trauma, and habits aren’t conscious choices. They are subconscious programmes.
If logic were the cure, you would have solved this long ago! You can’t use the “logic” part of your brain to fix the “emotional” part of your brain when they are effectively speaking different languages.
The Integrated Approach: A Blend of Hypnotherapy and NLP
To achieve rapid change, we have to go where the problem actually lives: the subconscious. My approach isn’t a rigid, one-size-fits-all manual. Instead, I use a bespoke blend of hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to act as a “user manual” for your unique brain.
1. NLP: Updating the Cognitive Syntax
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) allows us to look at the “code” of your thoughts. We can look at how your brain creates anxiety, the internal images, the tone of your inner critic, and the physical triggers. By changing the syntax of these mental maps, we can start “reprogramming” the automatic response before it even reaches your conscious awareness.
2. Hypnotherapy: Bypassing the Critical Factor
Hypnosis is simply a state of focused attention that allows us to bypass the “Critical Factor”, that part of your mind that says, “Yes, but…” or “I can’t change.” In this relaxed state, we can work directly with the subconscious to install new, supportive neural pathways.
Why a “Bespoke Mix” is Essential for Neurodivergent Minds
For those with Autism or ADHD, rigid therapeutic structures can often feel alienating. Our brains process information differently. A bespoke approach acknowledges your unique neural wiring. We don’t try to force your brain to work “normally”; we work with the way your brain is already built to create results that actually stick.
Stop trying to reason with a feeling. If you are ready to move past “talking about it” and start “changing it,” let’s have a chat. Change often happens much faster than you’ve been led to believe.
